Camellia reticulata is a species of Camellia native to southwestern China, in Yunnan Province.
The original cultivated reticulata varieties came from temple gardens in China, where they have been tended and revered for centuries. They are typically tall upright shrubs with bold, pointed foliage and very large richly coloured flowers.
It is a loose branched shrub or tree growing up to 15m. The leaves are 8 to 11cms long and elliptical dark green above and paler green below with conspicuous veins. The flowers are red pink or white, single, semi-double or double.
