Description

There are about 400 species of annuals, biennials and perennials in this genus, some of them are evergreen. The flowers are usually deep blue and sky blues but sometimes you will find whites, creams, yellows and even red blooms. They are mostly trumpet-shaped and are borne from spring to autumn. They are fully hardy, and will prefer sun or semi-shade with humus-rich, well drained. moist, neutral to acidic soil. You can propagate by division or offshoots in the spring or by seed in the autumn. You will need to divide the autumn flowering species.
