Description

This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe. STEM: Low-growing or angled upwards, woody, rooting below ROOT: Creeping underground stem. HAIRS: Long or short and sticky, hairy all round stems. STIPULES: Present, toothed, bases clasp stem. LEAF-STALK: 0.3-0.5cm, shorter than leaf. BRACTS: Leaf-like. FLOWER STALK: Much shorter than flower. SEPALS: 5, bases joined, teeth equal, longer than tube, enlarged in fruit. PETALS: 5, lowest pair joined, side pair overlap lower, upper largest, broad. STAMENS: 10, bases joined. STIGMA: 1, style long, hairless. OVARY: 1, 1-celled. SEEDS: 1-4, globular, rough.
