May have a large amount of irritant crystals in the tubers, which can be removed by repeated boiling. This crop has a minimum growing temperature of 10C and a maximum growing temperature of 35C; the optimal growing temperature is between 21C and 28C.

Colocasia esculenta `Black Magic` - can get up to 5' tall with an equal spread.
