Description

A vigorous hybrid between Rhodohypoxis and Hypoxis found growing in the wild.  Like Rhodohypoxis, these delightful little plants like an acid to neutral soil, and come from the Drakensberg Mts. in S. Africa where they grow in peaty soil which is very wet in their flowering period, but dry during the winter. Grow in the sun in a light, free-draining lime-free compost, with added sharp sand and leafmould. Water well when in growth, keep almost completely dry in winter, and repot annually as growth resumes in spring. They are ideal for alpine gardens and troughs, and can be plunged outside during the flowering period
