Description

Japanese Maples (Acer palmatum) are a species native to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and eastern China and are renowned for their staggering beauty in both autumn leaf colour and interesting bark. There are over 400 varieties of Japanese Mapel. Most are ideally grown in sun to part shade in a sheltered spot away from strong winds.

Japanese Maples are natives to Japan, northeast China and Korea. In their natural habitat they are normally shaded by larger trees and so prefer partial shade.

They have been cultivated from the early 17th century and are prized in Japan not only for their leaves but also their branch structure which is seen in winter

Beni tsukasa is a beautiful small tree which emerges orange-pink in the spring and turns to a nice light green for the summer.
