Upside down and back to front

Well I haven't achieved much in the garden for the last two weekends, on account of the fact that I have had to go to Melbourne on business, which is a bit of a shame as I had just got my 'sort it out for spring' head on and had been making some real progress on getting the garden in shape.Daisies in Winter

Oh well, it will give me something to do when I get back!

There are some plus sides to having to go down under ...

Bleach in the garden ...

... never really thought bleach had much place in the garden ... but I got through a good deal of it today!  Patio, sandpit, climbing frame, all a bit green and in need of a purge.

So this was the first really nice weekend of the year, and I spent most of it giving the garden a bit of a spring clean.

I started with the patio, that involved a couple of bin bags, a jet wash, a yard broom and a bottle of bleach ... it is only when you start clearing a patio that you realise how filthy it was.  So now it is lovely and clear again.

Finally got around to clearing it

So the front garden got it's much needed spring clean. Amazing the number of bags you can fill with debris when you are in the mood. I had to cut back the Potentilla rather harshly, it was taking over the path. I have no idea how it is going to deal with this afront ... time will out. The Penstemon got much the same treatment.

With the borders cleared and the rose cut it is generally a much tidier place.
